PRN Cardiac Health Psychologist

What We Offer

The psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide services to patients within the cardiology institute. The psychologist will split their time between acute and ambulatory, depending on the need.

Some of the psychologist's clinical responsibilities will be relatively predictable, and likely to increase as the program grows. These can include consultations for team members, "curbside" consults related to managing challenging patients, and crisis de-escalation.

The psychologist, in addition to patient facing responsibilities, provides invaluable non-billable services that support the multidisciplinary team and cardiology patients. These can include assisting in addressing issues with team dynamics, strategizing for program growth and system issues, and clinical and emotional debriefing and support meetings after the dea t h of an LVAD patient. D uties include but are not limited to performing diagnostic evaluations and ongoing psychotherapy for heart failure patients, conducting pre- and post-psychological evaluations for LVAD patients, providing ongoing support for LVAD and advanced heart failure patients, and conducting annual emotional wellness visits with LVAD patients.
