ResponsibilitiesJob Summary — Responsible for assessment, diagnostic, and/or treatment services to any person when so ordered by a physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Treatment is provided through the employment of physical means such as therapeutic exercise, heat, water, electricity, massage, ultrasound, and the use of rehabilitative procedures and devices. Will assist with acute, outpatient, and pediatric populations.
What You’ll Do
- Perform specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing and goniometry, and teach occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
- Conduct both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provide written summaries of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into the team plan.
- Plan intervention strategies and communicate effectively with families regarding the child’s strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
- Provide occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modalities to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
- Document goals and progress of therapy; participate in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
- Participate in chart reviews for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure beneficial practices for the population served.
- Attend scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
What You’ll Need
- Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure.
- CPR Certification every two years.
- Valid NC driver’s license.

- Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with patients, family members, visitors, coworkers and medical staff under a wide variety of circumstances
- Ability to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations
- Ability to work effectively with a team
Pay Range — $37.50 - $56.25
