The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager serves as the facility’s Safety Champion—a dynamic, proactive leader responsible for driving a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization. This role leads by example, inspires safe behaviors, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with operational leaders to build a world-class safety environment in a fast-growing manufacturing setting. The EHS Manager owns the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all EHS programs, policies, training, and reporting.

Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Culture
  • Serve as the facility’s safety ambassador, modeling safe behavior and driving a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly safety engagements, including daily safety meetings, monthly safety committee sessions, and hands-on floor presence.
  • Conduct highly engaging new hire safety orientations and walkthroughs to reinforce expectations from Day One.
  • Partner with site leaders to ensure timely corrective actions are implemented, communicated, and verified for effectiveness.
Safety Programs & Compliance
  • Create, implement, and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure all tasks are evaluated and controlled appropriately.
  • Maintain and update all facility safety boards, postings, and required OSHA documentation.
  • Ensure the site remains fully OSHA compliant, proactively monitoring compliance gaps and driving corrective action.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve all Health & Safety manuals, EHS plans, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage the facility’s Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program, including periodic audits and verifications.
Training & Employee Development
  • Ensure all employees are up to date on required safety training, certifications, and recertifications.
  • Coordinate and track forklift and powered industrial truck training, ensuring compliance and competency.
  • Coordinate fire extinguisher training, fire drills, evacuation procedures, and general emergency preparedness initiatives.
Inspections, Audits & Reporting
  • Coordinate and conduct regular facility safety inspections, walkthroughs, and hazard identification activities.
  • Schedule, track, and report on inspections, audits, corrective actions, and safety compliance metrics.
  • Maintain, organize, and update all SDS/MSDS documents and ensure accessibility for all employees.
  • Lead ergonomic assessments and recommend corrective measures to reduce risk and improve employee well-being.
  • Collect and analyze near misses, hazardous conditions, safety observations, and incident data to identify trends and systemic risks.
  • Lead thorough accident and incident investigations, determine root cause, and ensure follow-up actions are completed and communicated.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports and partner closely with HR on injury reports, workers’ compensation needs, and regulatory filings.
  • Create and maintain accurate records and reports on all environmental, health, and safety activities, metrics, and trends.
  • Develop, review, and update required EHS plans, including Emergency Action Plans, Hazard Communication Plans, and other regulatory documents.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and participate in cross-functional initiatives to elevate overall safety performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the growth, safety, and operational excellence of the facility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and leadership skills—able to influence at all levels.
