SummaryThe Winston-Salem Engineering team is seeking a summer intern who is prepared to assist with process improvement, provide analytical thinking and support data-driven projects. During your 8 to 12 weeks in this role, you will actively participate in continuous improvement projects, raw material qualifications and daily production support.
Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities- Support and document machine trials
- Conduct lab testing of trail materials
- Perform data analysis
- Work with Process Engineers to provide production support
- Current pursuit of a full-time undergraduate degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field
- Demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity, and a results-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Acute attention to detail with strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Knowledge of Minitab
- Strong motivation and work ethics and the ability to work independently, ability to balance multiple projects and competing deadlines
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKENVIRONMENT
Duties will be in normal office environment and an active production environment. Most of time will be on the production floor interfacing with key stakeholders to identify/resolve issues and/or develop solutions. Time will also spend in a lab environment as well as an office environment
