STV has immediate needs for Utility Coordinators in the Winston‑Salem, NC area to oversee utility coordination and relocations for NCDOT division‑managed programs. The role involves managing resources to identify utility conflicts and coordinating subsequent relocations prior to construction contract commencement.
Job Responsibilities- Develop utility relocation strategies and provide coordination/relocation services to remove, relocate, and modify utility facilities (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunication, etc.).
- Interpret highway construction plans, drainage summaries, specifications, and other documents to identify utility impacts.
- Apply knowledge of all policies, regulations, and engineering standards set forth by the Federal Highway Administration, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, and related NC General Statutes related to utility relocation.
- Utilize innovative construction methods while adhering to environmental regulations and roadway design standards.
- Maintain strong organizational skills and coordinate simultaneous tasks/projects.
- Schedule and conduct utility meetings with NCDOT, utility owners, and contractors; prepare agendas and minutes.
- Communicate technical information professionally and proficiently.
- Work closely with other design disciplines to determine practical utility conflict resolutions.
- Familiarize with the Subsurface Utility Engineering process and interpret related data.
- Determine cost responsibility (prior rights) and assist utility owners with preparation of utility agreements, relocation plans, and relocation schedules.
- Perform QA/QC of utility relocation packages for submittal to NCDOT.
- Prepare and QA/QC Utility by Others (UBO) plans in Micro Station.
- Prepare Environmental Permit drawings and narratives.
- Attend field meetings and site investigations as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office software or equivalent.
- Have experience with the NCDOT Utilities Accommodation Manual.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Candidate must hold a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
$47,102.00 - $62,803.00
