Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for technical assignments that further develop engineering skills under the supervision of a more senior technical staff.
  • Work both in a team environment and independently to identify facility and process issues, determine possible solutions, evaluate costs and benefits of credible alternatives, choose the appropriate resolution, and implement them while working in an operating manufacturing environment.
  • Act as a technical resource supporting project teams and maintenance organizations within the corporation, providing leadership and direction on mechanical or electrical concerns.
  • Develop RFPs, specifications and bid packages, determine the list of qualified contractors, evaluate bids and oversee the execution of the resulting contracts.
  • Participate in facility maintenance operations to ensure protection of company assets; proactively evaluate mechanical or electrical systems to judge remaining useful life and determine appropriate schedules and budgets for replacement to ensure integrity of building conditions and power supply. Lead design of new systems as required.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using experience and judgment to make adaptations and modifications.
  • Lead assignments that have clear and specified goals.
Qualifications
  • Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience leading or coordinating the work of others, including contractors, vendors and consultants.
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead or support the execution of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross‑functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, be pro‑active and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using experience and judgment to make adaptations and modifications.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least two years of progressive experience.
  • CAD experience is a plus.
