Role DescriptionForsyth Tech is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable part-time Instructor to teach Essential Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and introductory Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts. The successful candidate will possess a strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access, and be able to integrate practical instruction on emerging AI technologies that are transforming today’s workplace.
Instruction may include using Google AI or other approved learning platforms to introduce students to foundational AI principles, responsible use, and real-world applications. This part-time adjunct position offers an exciting opportunity to prepare students with the digital and AI literacy skills essential for success in modern business and administrative environments. The instructor will foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and career readiness.
QualificationsRequired:
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
- Experience using or teaching AI-related content or Google AI Coursera materials.
- Prior teaching or training experience required, with the ability to explain technology concepts clearly to adult learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach face-to-face classes on various campuses, day, evening or online.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in multiple applications.
- Experience developing and delivering online or hybrid technology courses.
- Experience working with adult learners.
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) with an emphasis on real-world business applications.
- Teach foundational AI concepts, including responsible use, automation, data literacy, and workplace applications.
- Incorporate resources such as Google AI Coursera or other approved platforms to support AI instruction.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence, and skill development.
- Assess student learning through hands-on exercises, projects, and assessments, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with institutional policies.
- Stay current with updates in both Microsoft Office applications and AI tools relevant to professional and administrative roles.
- Be available for student support during designated office hours and participate in departmental meetings or professional development as required.
