The Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with passion for clinical excellence and clinical teaching.
HighlightsThe successful candidate would have outstanding opportunities to advance in their academic career such as active participation in infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, medical education, clinical research, quality improvement, and other areas. Formal mentoring program for junior faculty is available and supported by the institution and department. Section members have a successful record of accomplishments in perinatal HIV prevention, pneumococcal surveillance, vaccine preventable diseases, neonatal infections, global health and medical education.
Clinical Responsibilities- Providing inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management of children with suspected or proven infectious diseases at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston‑Salem, NC.
- Potential opportunities to expand the ambulatory infectious disease operations.
- In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position will also include teaching responsibilities and supervision of medical students and residents.

- Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI‑powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature

- MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent and be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics in the subspecialty of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. >
- Candidates with a strong interest, training and/or expertise in pediatric infection prevention and/or antimicrobial stewardship are especially encouraged to apply.
- Excellent clinical and teaching skills; academic scholarly activities are expected.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a North Carolina (NC) medical license as determined by the NC Medical Board.
