Hanes Companies is seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead our indirect procurement strategy from our Winston-Salem, NC headquarters while supporting initiatives across North America. In this pivotal role, you will develop and execute category strategies, optimize costs, enhance supplier performance, and ensure compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who delivers measurable value and builds strong cross-functional partnerships across the organization.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Manage indirect procurement categories such as chemicals, packaging supplies, and industrial/facility supplies
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for indirect goods and services
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure service levels and compliance
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, and contract renegotiation
- Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency
- Assess supplier risks and implement contingency plans to mitigate operational impacts
- Implement procurement best practices and tools to streamline processes and improve transparency
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Certifications or coursework in procurement or supply chain (CPSM, CIPS, APICS) are a plus
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations
- Experience with vendor selection, negotiation, and contract administration
- Exposure to categories such as chemicals, packaging, industrial supplies, and/or facility supplies is a plus
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of spend analysis and cost-saving methodologies
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, compliance standards, and risk management principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
