Join the Office of Institutional Assessment and Research (IAR) at Winston-Salem State University as an Administrative Support Associate. IAR collects data from internal and external sources, analyzes and presents information for reporting, planning, decision-making, and policy formulation. The role provides administrative, analytic, and project management support, assists with data lookup, entry, and analysis, and supports ongoing assessment and analytic efforts. Responsibilities include preparing executive briefings, talking points, correspondence, and meeting materials to advance IAR, and coordinating priorities across projects.
The role manages core communication and operational functions for IAR, including IT ticketing, website, email, and phone; coordinates internal and external meetings; and supports events such as Academic and Administrative Audit Days and program reviews. It also handles scheduling, travel, content updates, and incentive programs for student success, serving as a central point of contact and ensuring efficient operations and collaboration across the university.
Data / Information Collection, Coordination - Operations, and Customer Service are the primary competencies for this role.
Data / Information Collection- Utilize university software to assist with analytics and assessment support.
- Assist with basic data lookup and entry for assessment and analytic efforts in IAR, and track priorities and needs (including the OIAR Calendar).
- Write executive briefings, talking points, and correspondence for the Office of Institutional Assessment and Research.
- Develop agendas, summaries, and meeting materials for meetings and internal seminars facilitated by IAR.
- Prepare agendas for internal team meetings, Assessment Committee, and Data Governance Committee; provide summaries and follow up on action items.
- Manage the IAR IT ticketing system for ad hoc projects and data requests.
- Organize and coordinate events hosted by IAR, including Academic/Administrative Audit Days and Program Reviews.
- Manage IAR calendar and coordinate logistics (travel, reservations, AV setup, catering, agendas, documents, daily schedules).
- Manage the IAR email account and phone line; draft communications as appropriate.
- Update the IAR website, calendars, data sheets, and related content.
- Manage IAR incentives for student success efforts.
- Act as a point person for the Office of Institutional Assessment and Research and ensure efficient operations and information flow.
- Advise, support, and collaborate on initiatives for the Office of Institutional Assessment and Research.
