Mechanical Technician

Mechanical Technician – 8‑i, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 2PE

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Technician for our heavy industrial plant. This full‑time contract role offers an annual salary of £49,405.

• 3 weeks Mon–Fri 6 am‑2 pm
• 2 weeks Mon–Thu 1 pm‑9 pm, Fri 9:30 am‑5:30 pm
• 1 week Mon–Thu 8 pm‑6 am

• Deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
• Maintain underground plant and equipment to high safety standards.
• Install new machinery and modify existing plant.
• Support shaft and surface engineering operations as required.
• Carry out cross‑skilled tasks including welding, burning and rigging.
• Ensure housekeeping, safety and statutory compliance are upheld.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Completed Mechanical or Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Heavy industrial, mining, quarrying or plant maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Welding, burning and rigging capability.
• Basic instrumentation and IT skills.
