Position Overview:
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the care and management of patients seen in the Urgent Care Clinic. This position operates under all Winona Health policies and procedures, and State and CMS rules and regulations. The position is responsible to deliver the highest level of customer service and productivity for all patients at all times. The position will work closely with the physician supervisor in order to maintain standards of care that meet with the high expectations of Winona Health.
- The Provider will see patients in the Emergency Room setting for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Will work under the direction of a supervising Physician for the care and treatment of patients.
- Provides excellent and caring customer service in the treatment of patients. Provides care in compliance with policies, procedures and scope of practice in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Keeps abreast of current drug and treatment interventions for care of patients.
- Refers patients appropriately to physicians and specialists for disease management or diagnostic function that exceeds the scope of practice that is appropriate for the PA or NP.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Skills and Experience:
Post-secondary in related field of study. Graduate of an accredited physician's assistant or nurse practitioner program, active participation in continuing education programs and maintains appropriate certification(s) and licensure. CPR Certification. ATLS. Valid Minnesota License. Basic computer skills. Outlook. Patient information database (Cerner, EMR, American Data).
Familiar with Information Technology Systems.
A fast-pace clinical environment with multi-tasking, prioritizing, and frequent interruptions. Continuous interpersonal communication required with managers, staff, volunteers, and the general public.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Sunday 10:30 AM to 10: 30PM; including every third weekend.
