The Forklift Operator is responsible for the loading and unloading of railcars and trailers in a safe and efficient manner. As a Forklift Operator you will work closely with our Warehouse Supervisor, Lead Hand, Shunt Drivers, Carriers, other Forklift Operators and other Operational Staff to manage the movement of freight through our warehouse.
Specific
Responsibilities Include:
To work in accordance with all warehouse procedures and policies.Safe operation of all equipment.Responsible for unloading and loading paper products from railcars and trailers.Full / LTL truck transfer or unloading.Documentation of all product code numbers for bills of lading on outbound loads.Ensuring that product is properly packaged for outbound shipments.Assisting in any load transfers either with forklift or by hand.Keeping track of all product movement in the Warehouse.Completing racking / forklift inspection and employee production sheets on a daily basis.Responsible for general housekeeping.Complete and submit forklift inspection and employee workload sheets / computer logs to your supervisor.Work on different current customer accounts as need as required.Engage in other activities assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Certified Forklift Operator with 2 years’ experience.Excellent customer service skillsGood customer service skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to manage in a fast-paced environmentAdaptableAble to use with basic efficiency email, spreadsheet and computer / tablets or smart phone.Warehouse environment: ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, walk, bend, case picking and lift up to 50 lbs., Push / pull up to 17 lbs. force, Dock and outside can be hot or cold e / to moderate dust at times.
Please note this position is permanent full‐time and subject to a
Continental Shift from 07:00-19:00 or 08:00-20:00.
