Hours of Work:
Up to 40 hours per week – Dependent on program needs. Orientation will take place on select evenings and weekends in May and June 2026. Schedules/Dates are subject to change.

The OpportunityThe City of Selkirk is currently in search of a Pool Attendant to join our team. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Pool Attendant shall be responsible for providing facility upkeep and front‑line customer service to ensure an acceptable level of safety for pool patrons.
Job Duties- Complete admissions for all patrons that enter the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool and surrounding area including but not limited to skimming, vacuuming, sweeping and picking up garbage.
- Receive and process daily cash and pool gate entry tickets.
- Complete daily reconciliation reporting.
- Complete patron counts as required.
- Complete admission tracking for pool patrons.
- Implement and enforce all rules, regulations and policies of the City of Selkirk governing conduct of persons using the Selkirk Park Pool to ensure maximum safety for pool patrons.
- Assist with the promotion of water safety education.
- Answer questions and assist patrons with matters related to the pool.
- Sanitize/clean high‑touch areas in pool washrooms and change areas.
- Support and assist lifeguards and other aquatic staff in the event of an emergency.
- Clear Current Child Abuse Registry Check
- Clear Current Criminal Record Check
- Valid Emergency First Aid & CPR-C
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle, count and process money
- Must be physically able to perform all the labouring aspects or other duties associated with the position
This is a Casual Non‑Union position ranging from May to September 2026, working various hours up to 40 hours a week based on a flexible schedule.
This position requires the individual to work outdoors and in an outdoor pool environment.
Due to the nature of the position, irregular working hours are required, including evening and weekend shifts, as the facility operates 7 days a week. This position will be required to work on Canada Day, August and September long weekends.
This position is excluded from the Collective Agreement and is open to all applicants. Applications will be accepted until February 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
