Data Architect

The position of Data Architect is responsible for providing the primary direction on all technical aspects of data processing, storage, and transfer y work in concert with IT and business leadership to ensure that the foundation underlying all data related activities at Price are secure, reliable, and positioned to meet the needs of the business in the immediate term as well as positioned to enable future growth.

They provide the technical leadership that will empower the business to leverage data as a strategic asset.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and implementing the data infrastructure required to serve AI, Analytics, Reporting, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure architectural designs are implementable and aligned with platform capabilities.
  • Defining and implementing overall data management practices including recovery, security, backup, and capability specifications.
  • Document and diagram current‑state data systems, integrations, pipelines, and data flows within the Enterprise Architecture tool.
  • Researching and evaluating technologies to help improve data management practices.
  • Developing data management strategies for the short‑term and long‑term data infrastructure, in concert with software architects, IT operations, business units, and external vendors.
  • Educating technical and non‑technical resources on data practices and instructing them on the application of new technologies.
  • Support initiatives related to data governance, metadata management, lineage, and data quality.
