DutiesProvincial Placement and Licensing Specialist:
Responsible for working with Child and Family Service agencies, authorities and facility operators to support placement of a child/youth in care. This involves collaborative problem solving, responding to issues that are complex, and working with numerous key partners. Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and regulations, legislation that governs facility operations is required.
Essential:
- Post secondary degree in Social Sciences (BSW preferred). Other acceptable combinations of education and related training and experience may be considered.
- Case management experience (including intakes, assessments, service coordination, counselling, and monitoring).
- Experience working in a child and family services agency or social services agency.
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships with departments, colleagues and partners.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize complex tasks/assignments in a high volume work environment with competing demands.
- Effective written communication skills to write clear and concise correspondence to a variety of audiences including detailed reports.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate or deliver difficult messages or information to partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) or similar software applications.
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search
- Must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
- Must provide a current and satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must provide a current and satisfactory Prior Contact Check
