Journeyman Trailer & Tractor Mechanics – Winnipeg, MB

Staffmax Staffing is currently seeking experienced Journeyman Trailer and/or Tractor Mechanics to join our client’s team in Winnipeg, MB

Compensation:

  • Tractor Mechanics: $38/hr (Journeyman/Person)
  • Trailer Mechanics: $32/hr (Journeyman/Person)

    • Shift Options & Premiums (pick some or many shifts):

  • Tractor Shift: Noon to 10:30 p.m. ($3.00/hr shift premium)
  • Trailer Shift: 3:00 p.m. to Midnight ($3.00/hr shift premium)
  • Weekend Shift: Saturday (8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.), Sunday (12:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) ($3.00/hr shift premium)
  • Graveyard Shift: Midnight to 8:30 a.m. ($5.00/hr shift premium)

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and servicing
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, air brake systems, tires, and bodywork
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance
  • Weld and replace equipment as needed
  • Assess equipment to determine if external repairs are required
  • Report faults or malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team to prioritize repairs

    • Qualifications:

  • Red Seal or Journeyman certification required
  • High school diploma and relevant experience
  • Basic set of hand tools
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge and experience with tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures
