Toromont Power Systems is looking for Apprentice Technicians to join our team! The Apprentices will train with our trusted Power Systems Technicians in the shop and maintain steady progression into a licensed technician position in order to safely and effectively diagnose and repair customer power system equipment in a timely manner.

• Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Assist Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on gensets, industrial engines
• Marine engines, controls and other auxiliary equipment, including Automatic Transfer Switches
• Switchgear and Uninterruptible Power Supplies
• Perform basic troubleshooting for all equipment and use Cat, calibrating and other testing equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems
• Provide detailed service reports and other documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams as required
• Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner

• Completed a high school COOP related to heavy equipment mechanics, engine mechanics, generator servicing or related technical field
• Post secondary education on Electrical Systems or College Electrical Program specializing in Generator Systems or Diesel Engines
