As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they exacerbate in the environment.

- Facility Patrols:
Regularly check the building and surrounding grounds to ensure doors, windows, and access points are secure. - Access Control:
Monitor and control who enters and exits the facility, ensuring only authorized staff, clients, and visitors enter. - Monitoring:
Keep an eye on security cameras, alarm systems, and emergency exits. - Incident Response:
Respond to emergencies such as medical issues, disturbances, or fire alarms. Notify management or emergency services as needed. - Client Safety:
Ensure the safety of clients and staff, maintaining a calm and professional presence. - Documentation:
Maintain logs of patrols, incidents, and any unusual observations throughout the shift. - Rule Enforcement:
Ensure clients follow facility rules, intervening when necessary but in a non-confrontational manner.
- Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (as required by the province)
- First Aid/CPR Certification required or considered an asset
- Previous security, healthcare, shelter, or customer service experience considered an asset
- Experience monitoring security cameras (CCTV) and responding to alarm systems
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with clients, staff, and visitors
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
- Ability to write clear and accurate incident and shift reports
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patrols
