We’re looking for friendly and dependable volunteers to support our team during the busy lunch hour. This role helps create a positive and engaging environment for the people we support by assisting with meals and recreational activities.
Key Duties- Assist with lunch service and offer support as needed to individuals during mealtime
- Spend one‑on‑one time reading with individuals
- Help set individuals up with light activities after lunch (e.g., crosswords, coloring, magazines)
- Gather and organize recreational materials for the afternoon or the following morning
- Support a welcoming and inclusive environment for all
Ideal Volunteer: Someone who is patient, sociable, and enjoys spending time with others in a relaxed, supportive setting. No specialized experience needed—just a willingness to help and be part of a team.

Adapt to different needs and preferences of the people you’re supporting. Learn how to respond calmly and helpfully in a variety of situations. - Experience in a Care or Social Services Environment:
Gain exposure to the fields of disability services, recreation therapy, or community support. Valuable for students or anyone exploring careers in health, social work, or education.
Age: 18‑30, 31‑54, 55+
Volunteer shifts are available weekdays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Volunteers may seek one to five days a week to fit their schedule. Any time you’re able to commit is truly appreciated. Please provide a schedule of the days you are available.

Background checks required: criminal record check and child abuse registry check. Costs are reimbursed.
Other requirements:
Fulfil volunteer hours for school credit, attend with a support person, use a mobility device, French speaking / bilingual (French and English).
The organization will provide a letter of reference, certificate of recognition, and training/orientation.
