Volunteer Opportunity
Description of DutiesJoining as a Community Engagement Ambassador, you will become the face of Volunteer Manitoba at community events, career fairs and volunteer fairs from April 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026
, after which you can decide to continue volunteering with us. Your responsibilities will include setting up and working at an information booth interacting with event attendees. This position allows you to talk with hundreds of participants about the benefits and joys of volunteering!
- Attend community events, career fairs and volunteer fairs that Volunteer Manitoba has been invited to participate by having a booth.
- Create awareness of the services we offer at Volunteer Manitoba.
- Encourage various audiences including youth, newcomers, seniors and corporate audiences to volunteer by frequently speaking at a booth.
- Be well-informed about the various volunteer opportunities available on Volunteer Manitoba's website.
- Set up and take down setup at fairs.
- Collate statistics from each outreach event that will be used to support the documentation of project activities in the annual report.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are comfortable connecting with people face-to-face and answering questions.
- Has English or French verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly and passionate about helping people.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office tools.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and 5F driver's license.
- Make connections with various non-profits and charities in Manitoba.
- Gain experience providing support to others in a professional setting.
- Improve your networking skills.
- Community outreach worker, volunteer coordinator, event coordinator, teacher, social worker, communications specialist, public speaking, or public relations.
- Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
- Time Commitment:
Daytime, Evening, Weekend. - Shifts are Daytime Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Volunteers are requested to attend regular check-in meetings.
- Location of volunteer opportunity: various locations across Winnipeg – Assiniboine South, Downtown, Elmwood, Fort Garry, Inkster, Point Douglas, River East, River Heights, Seven Oaks, St. Boniface, St. James‑Assiniboia, St. Vital, Transcona.
