Description:

South Interlake 55 Plus is a volunteer based, not for profit, charitable organization with a mission to encourage all older adults to improve their quality of life by providing educational, recreational, health and social opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunity

Description of Duties:

• Under the direction of the Executive Director the volunteer will provide various opportunities in supporting the South Interlake 55 Plus Senior Activity Centre. This may include assisting with fundraising, special events regarding setting up, reception duties and tear down/clean up after events.
• Program facilitators are required for various exercise programs and various educational presentations.
• The monthly luncheons requires servers to attend and provide cleaning dishes after the luncheon.
• There is also various short term projects assisting with various administrative projects.

Skills Required:

• Friendly, outgoing personalities who are able to connect with seniors and provide assistance with compassion to those in the senior communities.
• Computer skills - use of Microsoft Applications
• Administrative skills such as the use of a photocopier
• Good Telephone manner
• Lifting and handling of 5 - 10 lbs or more for moving of tables and chairs

• Fundraisers time commitment - may include from 2-3 hours quarterly
