Qualifications- experience with equity-seeking populations and/or parents and children
- post-secondary degree in a related field essential
- knowledge of infant development, attachment & parenting
- experience with group facilitation, adult education principles
- staff supervision experience preferred; demonstrated aptitude essential
- love of / thrive on challenge, detail, variety, problem-solving
- a resourceful “self-starter” within a structure
- demonstrated empathy, non-judgmental approach, approachability
- exceptional communication and on-the-spot thinking skills essential
- experience with complex family/social issues requiring assessment and referral
- ability to work in a job where no two days are the same, involves complex issues, in groups and with individuals
- knowledge of related community resources and issues
- able to provide a reliable car to be used Tuesday to Friday; valid driver’s license
- clear criminal record and child abuse checks
Healthy Start is a prenatal and postnatal outreach organization that operates educational groups from 8 sites (downtown, North End and others), “wraparound” support, and is funded by both governments Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (PHAC) and Healthy Baby (Government of Manitoba). We are a small, friendly organization of 14 staff, half being outreach workers and we work in collaboration with nurses and other services.
SalarySalary range $40,800 to $47,298 for 4 days per week. Salary determined based on experience. Parking provided.
