Manitoba Nursery Landscape Association is a voluntary trade organization representing businesses in the ornamental horticultural industry, such as landscape contractors, arborists, lawn‑care providers, nurseries, growers, garden centres, and sod producers. The organization works to strengthen the Green Industry in Manitoba and across Canada. With a focus on professionalism and the continuous advancement of the industry, the association supports its members in various aspects of their business.

Manitoba Nursery Landscape Association is connected to the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association, fostering collaboration with industry professionals nationwide.

Role Description

This is an off‑site contract role for an Executive Director, located in Winnipeg, MB. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading and managing the operations of the association, developing and executing strategic plans, and representing the organization in interactions with stakeholders and members. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, fostering member engagement, leading advocacy efforts, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Additionally, the Executive Director will work on strengthening partnerships and furthering the mission of the Manitoba Nursery Landscape Association.

Qualifications
  • Leadership and organisational management skills, with experience in strategy implementation and team collaboration
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship‑building abilities
  • Proficiency in budget management, financial planning, and governance
  • Knowledge of the horticultural industry or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including industry members, government agencies, and partner organisations
  • Strong project management and problem‑solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in association management or working within a nonprofit organisation is a plus
