Position Overview
Join the dynamic team of the Fascin Asian Film Festival as our Marketing & Social Media Coordinator for the Winnipeg edition. Reporting directly to the Winnipeg Festival Co-Directors, and working with the National Marketing Lead, this contract role plays a pivotal role in promoting Asian cinema to local audiences through strategic marketing, social media engagement, media relations, and administrative support for sponsors and partners.
Help amplify diverse stories during our May 2026 festival (dates TBA).
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategy with Marketing Committee and National Marketing Lead guidance.
- Manage all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In, Tik Tok): content creation, contests, giveaways, and audience engagement.
- Create and manage email campaigns, newsletters via Mailchimp, and daily festival updates.
- Write press releases, pitch media outlets, secure earned media (radio/TV interviews, articles), and manage media sponsors/partners.
- Coordinate postering, program production, print/online advertising, promotional materials, and pre-screening video with proper sponsor recognition.
- Assist with sponsorship proposals and ensure all funder/sponsor marketing requirements are met.
- Live social media coverage and audience engagement across all platforms.
- Send daily morning emails to subscribers with event schedules.
- Coordinate sponsor signage, banners, and on-site recognition.
- Working with the Co-Directors, create and send post-festival surveys to attendees, volunteers, and participating filmmakers.
- Collect data on social engagement, email metrics, press coverage, website traffic, and surveys.
- Create thank-you posts, award announcements, and final social/email content.
- Prepare and present comprehensive final marketing report (strengths, weaknesses, recommendations) at June Winnipeg Team Meeting.
- Assisting the Co-Directors with any additional tasks (within reason) as needed.
