Production Team Assistant

American Biaxis Inc. (ABI) is seeking a Production Team Assistant to join our Production Department based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are seeking a motivated Production Team Assistant to join our team! Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for safely and effectively operating an assigned area of the production system while ensuring targets for quality, output, and waste are consistently met. With ongoing training and development, the Assistant will gain competency across all areas of the production floor.

• Safely and effectively operate assigned production areas, providing support in other areas as needed
• Monitor production processes to meet targets for quality, output, and waste
• Identify and resolve production issues; accelerate to senior team members when required
• Develop expertise in specific production areas and support the growth of team members through knowledge sharing
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Dismantle, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment; promptly report issues to maintenance
• Accurately complete all required documentation and logbook entries
• Stay current with plant communications, including emails, reports, and bulletin boards

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts as required including days, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.5 kg)
• 1+ years of experience clearly communicating with team members both verbal and written.
• 6+ months of experience with hand and/or power tools

• 6+ months of work experience within a manufacturing or plastics processing environment.
• Forklift and overhead crane certification preferred
• 6+ months of experience with equipment and/or machinery (e.g. lawn mowers, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, cranes, balers) is preferred
• The Production Team Assistant position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor
• We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location
• Parking available onsite

• Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 8:00am-8:00pm (days)
• Week 2 - Friday to Sunday 8:00pm-8:00am (nights)
• Week 3 - Monday 8:00pm-8:00am (nights), Friday to Sunday 8:00am-8:00pm (days)
• Week 4 - Tuesday to Thursday 8:00pm-8:00am (nights)
