Work environmentThe Canadian Grain Commission’s Grain Research Laboratory supports Canada’s reputation as a consistent and reliable supplier of quality grain. Our research programs assess Canadian grain harvest quality and study how grading factors affect end-use properties. The work will be focused on specific quality testing of interest to producers, the grain industry, and marketers of grains, oilseeds, and pulses.

This inventory will be used annually to staff approximately six four-month term positions in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Terms are usually from September to December. Candidates will be pulled from the inventory on February 24, 2025. Please ensure you have submitted your application prior if you wish to be considered.
This selection process may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions, at the same group and level and various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, casual employment, part-time worker, assignment, and secondment).

Information you must provideIn order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
EDUCATION:
• Completion of all requirements for a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field of natural sciences with a specialization related to the duties of the position OR an acceptable combination of education and training with relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience or training in analytical chemistry and laboratory procedures.
• Experience in sample processing, preparing, and analyzing samples.
ABILITIES:
• Ability to record, organize and interpret data and other information using appropriate computer software.
