Sanitation Line OperatorLocation: Winnipeg
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Schedule: Monday to Friday 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Position SummaryReporting to the Maintenance Manager, our ideal candidate is a self‑starter who takes initiative, displays problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) operating a variety of equipment such as Hansel cooker and WDS depositor and running its cleaning and sanitation programs
- Deep cleaning Machinery – Daily, weekly and yearly deep cleaning tasks
- Responsible for performing on‑site clean‑up and sanitation activities. Assist in the regular cleaning and upkeep of equipment to ensure its proper functioning and longevity. Ensure all proper cleaning activities are done according to the production schedule.
- Communicate effectively with Supervisor, follow supervisor direction
- Collaborate with co‑workers and department leads to initiate improvement strategies and optimize sanitation standard for cleaning procedures of production equipment
- Sweep, mop and operate floor scrubber to maintain all surfaces
- Troubleshooting issues that arise during production runs or cleaning activities
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and optimize productivity while operating production equipment
- Accurately complete and manage all necessary paperwork related to production processes
- Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving production processes and operational performance
- Complete all waste disposal according to health and safety standards
- Assisting with day shift to complete all tasks due to delays (helping in bulk packaging, completing production runs.)
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Weigh, record, and move waste product to the destruction cage/ waste drum in accordance with outlined SOP’s
- Cleaning and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
- Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required. - Experience:
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment - Skills:
mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, ability to follow safety procedures, and teamwork skills. - Physical Requirements:
lifting heavy objects up to 50lbs, standing for long periods.
