Job Description

The AVP, CEO Communications is responsible for shaping and executing the CEO's internal and external communications agenda, in partnership with the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, the Chief of Staff to the CEO, and key leaders across Corporate Affairs globally. This role ensures high‑impact, high‑quality communications are delivered with consistency across a well‑defined plan to drive clear outcomes that advance the CEO's narrative, external positioning, and internal communications in support of the Bank's business priorities.

The Global Corporate Affairs team includes internal and external communications for the Bank in all markets, media relations, digital content, corporate citizenship, sustainability, Canadian and U.S. government relations, stakeholder engagement and change management communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of a high‑impact, multi‑year CEO communications platform that advances TD's strategic narrative, including establishing thematic priorities, signature keynote moments, proactive media positioning, and thought leadership.
  • Shape CEO's presence across national economic, policy, AI, and social impact conversations, ensuring a differentiated and trusted leadership profile.
  • Ensure a clear, consistent CEO narrative is embedded across enterprise communications aligned to strategy, purpose, promise, and culture.
  • Partner closely with Chief Corporate Affairs Officer to translate strategic priorities into integrated CEO communications plans.
  • Establish structured planning processes, governance, decision rights, and reporting discipline that accelerate execution and ensure quality and consistency.
  • Lead disciplined tracking of emerging issues, stakeholder sentiment, reputational risks to strengthen CEO situational awareness and enterprise agility.
  • Collaborate across Corporate Affairs, including media relations, public policy, government relations, and Investor Relations to ensure fully aligned CEO messaging and delivery.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of a team of high‑performing communications professionals supporting the CEO portfolio, ensuring consistently high standards and alignment.
Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure all CEO communications meet regulatory, disclosure and reputational standards.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish clear success metrics and reporting cadence to assess platform effectiveness.
  • Track progress against narrative adoption, stakeholder engagement, and visibility objectives.
  • Provide regular forward‑looking insights and recommendations to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and the CEO Office.
