The Role
As Our Executive Director, you are responsible for the overall leadership, management, and supervision of Shawenim Abinoojii’s programs, strategic direction, policies and directives.

You will lead Our organization, follow, develop and implement the strategic plan to advance the organization’s vision, mission and goals supporting fundraising goals while overseeing the effective use of resources to foster the growth of Our organization.

You are thoroughly committed to Shawenim Abinoojii’s vision, mission, and goals ensuring all recommendations, actions and decisions are aligned.

You are an experienced leader, coach and mentor. You are a visionary and an experienced relationship builder and manager.

Key Responsibilities and Leadership
Operational Planning and Management

Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance program reach and effectiveness

Ensure strategic oversight of specialized programs

Coach Senior Leaders ensuring accountability for quality and compliance

Collaborate with the all SAI Directors to ensure effective policies and compliance

Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture; participate in senior-level recruitment and succession planning

Ensure organizational capacity aligns with mission and goals

Program Planning and Management

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for programs and services

Ensure alignment with mission and Board of Directors’ priorities

Lead the development and evaluation of programs with senior staff

Monitor outcomes and ensure continuous improvement

Report program achievements and challenges to the Board of Directors

Financial Planning and Management

Provide strategic oversight of the organization’s financial health and sustainability, ensuring alignment with the mission and long-term goals

Review and approve annual budgets and major expenditures

Monitor financial performance through regular reports

Ensure compliance with financial regulations

Report on financial status, risks, and opportunities to the Board

Community Relations and Advocacy

Communicate with stakeholders keeping them informed of the work of the organization, identifying changes as necessary

Establish collaborative relationships and arrangements with community groups, funders, politicians, and other organizations achieving and advancing organizational goals

Identify and evaluate potential risks to the organization as a whole, implementing necessary risk control measures

Ensure the Board of Directors and the organization carry appropriate and adequate insurance coverage

Ensure the Board and Directors understand the terms, conditions and limitations of the insurance coverage

Board Liaison and Governance

Be the professional advisor to the Board of Director on all aspects of the organization's activities, issues, and operations

Direct the development of proposals and service contracts meeting the needs of the community served

Set up systems and processes that align with the overall direction, effectiveness, and accountability of the organization

Lead the process of establishing and maintaining a committed and informed Board of Directors
