General Labourer

Edison Properties is a property management company that has been in business for over 50 years providing apartments for rent ranging from cozy and comfortable bachelor apartments to luxurious penthouse suites in the Winnipeg market. We are seeking a full-time General Labourer to take up manual labor tasks and support operations in the worksites of our apartments located at Fort Garry Place. This role will involve working in a team and in collaboration with other trades and staff. Customer service, proactive communication, taking initiative, and team playing will be necessary for success in this role, in addition to technical knowledge.

• Daily:
  • Garbage bin removal and maintenance
  • Recycling bin removal and maintenance
  • Equipment operator
  • Scrap metal runs
• As needed:
  • Support with moving of company furniture
  • Cleaning and maintenance of maintenance shops (FGP)
  • Putting away and organization of maintenance shops (FGP)
  • Cleaning pond
  • Moving machinery and equipment
  • Supporting the moving of equipment in the Assiniboine Athletic Club (AAC)
  • Snow removal
• Availability to work weekends (bi-weekly rotation) is required
• Other duties as assigned

• Operator experience (min. 1 year of experience)
• Education:
  
  High diploma is considered an asset
• Clear Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector)
• Valid Driver’s License is required (Experience driving a truck and trailer is preferred)
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb a ladder and crawl
• Ability to stand or walk for long hours of the day
• Ability to work outside year-round in all weather conditions
• Additional physical requirements will include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 kilograms and occasional lifting and/or moving up 50 kilograms
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
