We currently have an opportunity for a Systems and Network Administrator to join our team in our Winnipeg or Steinbach locations. As a member of the Information Technology Team, the Systems and Network Administrator is responsible for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) administration. This includes workstation installation, maintenance and sustainment duties, OS and application patch testing and deployment, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing preventive maintenance, and creating and maintaining operational procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Execute hardware and software rollouts, upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and relocations efficiently and according to established standards.
  • Lead change and release management activities, including producing compliance reports for software and Active Directory, and coordinating remediation efforts.
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory environments, including user management, group policies, and operational integrity.
  • Maintain and patch workstations and servers, ensuring system stability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Manage IT asset inventory through SCCM, including lifecycle tracking, imaging, configuration, and corporate‑standard image maintenance.
  • Respond to second‑level help desk issues, triaging requests, establishing priority, and escalating to vendors or senior support when required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve enterprise application and hardware issues, while identifying emerging technologies that support strategic goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for frontline IT services, procedures, and technical operations to support consistent service delivery.
  • Support procurement activities by sourcing equipment and software, managing licensing agreements, and overseeing purchasing, invoicing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage system operations including Active Directory administration, workstation/server patching, software rollouts, upgrades, and maintaining standard desktop/laptop equipment.
  • Print server management, including driver distribution and printer & queue management.
  • Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Network Administration, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of related experience in a similar field.
  • Strong expertise in system administration, including hardware/software rollouts, workstation and server patching, configuration changes, and adherence to ITIL-aligned maintenance standards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Active Directory administration, change and release management processes, and producing compliance or remediation reports.
  • Hands‑on experience with SCCM for asset management, imaging, and maintaining standardized desktop/laptop environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve second‑level technical issues, prioritize service requests, and escalate effectively to senior support or vendors.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders, support enterprise applications, and contribute to organizational and departmental goals.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities, including maintaining accurate IT documentation, managing procurement activities (hardware/software/licensing), and adapting to emerging technologies and business needs.
