Reporting to the Director IT Transformation, this role is responsible for leading the building and development of our Date Lakehouse, including data pipelines, data quality and data governance. They will support the organization in making data driven decisions by working with business units and analysts supporting data requests, visualizations and building data literacy throughout the organization. They will work on AI initiatives and practices in the organization and build and execute road maps for data management and artificial intelligence.


* Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.

Qualifications:

  • College or University degree Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • 5 years’ experience working in a data role
  • 3 years’ experience in a direct people leadership role, with a focus on coaching and mentoring team members
  • Experience in relational databases as well as building data lakes and warehouses
  • Understanding of Lean/Agile Principles and Practices
  • Understanding of cloud computing
  • Experience with machine learning, LLMs and other artificial intelligence techniques
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to engage various stakeholder groups
  • Proficient in data analysis with strong capabilities in Excel and PowerBI
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered a significant asset
