Our client Peguis Child & Family Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Workplace Mediation Advisor to support a healthy, respectful, and collaborative work environment within the Agency. The Workplace Mediation Advisor contributes directly to these goals by promoting positive communication, resolving conflicts with fairness and cultural sensitivity, and supporting a workplace where employees are valued, heard, and equipped to thrive. This position is located in Winnipeg, MB.
Key Responsibilities- Conflict Resolution:
Deliver conflict resolution and related training across all departments. - Communication:
Communicate effectively with all involved parties to understand perspectives, facilitate constructive dialogue, and recommend solutions that align with Agency policies and values. - Workplace Harmony:
Serve as a neutral mediator to resolve conflicts while maintaining confidentiality and supporting a respectful, collaborative work environment. - Training and Support:
Provide employees and managers with conflict resolution training and guidance to help them address minor disputes independently. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate, detailed records of all mediation sessions, agreements, and outcomes in accordance with Agency policies and legal requirements. - Policy Development:
Contribute to the development and revision of internal conflict resolution policies to ensure consistency with legal, ethical, and organizational standards. - Legal Compliance:
Ensure all mediation practices adhere to applicable labor laws, Agency policies, and the PCFS Code of Conduct. - Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate mediation practices and recommend enhancements to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of dispute resolution processes.
- Knowledge of Peguis First Nation’s Legislation “ The Honouring our Children, Families, and Nation Act”
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; mediation certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in conflict resolution or mediation, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Experience working with First Nations communities; preference will be given to qualified First Nations candidates.
- Demonstrated strength in conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to remain neutral, objective, and composed in emotionally charged situations.
- Strong empathy and active listening skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability coverage.
