Senior Human Resources Generalist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, inclusive team aimed at shaping the future of HR orting directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will provide full lifecycle HR support to Business Unit leaders at the Manager level and below. In this role, you will serve as a trusted HR advisor, providing both strategic and hands‑on support to leaders and employees across the organization.

You’ll help drive talent initiatives, strengthen our culture, and ensure a consistent, high‑quality employee experience.

The successful candidate will also be a member of the Winnipeg site HR Team focused on consistent policy application and employee engagement across the Winnipeg campus comprised of 1,300 plus employees.

What you’ll do
  • Partner with Leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Coach leaders and employees to support development, conflict resolution, and effective team dynamic.
  • Advises and supports managers in employee selection and onboarding, employee development, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Ensures compensation plans and reward and recognition programs are equitable and in line with the organization’s goals and total rewards philosophy.
  • Provides support and guidance to employees around policies, procedures, benefits, payroll and processes.
  • Administers policies and procedures for employment, placement, termination and transfer of employees.
  • Ensures consistent and equitable application of organization policies and procedures. Including assisting on the interpretation and education on HR policies, and provides counseling on such policies as necessary with both leaders and employees.
  • Conduct and support investigations, takes appropriate actions to address and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Work with the business unit to deliver and facilitate developmental opportunities for client groups, which may include performance management, succession/workforce planning, compensation/benefits, organization/team development, and change management.
  • Manage specific projects as determined by the HR Senior Leadership Team and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Complies with all existing government, labor and legal reporting requirements to minimize company exposure to lawsuits and manages sensitive and confidential information.
What skills you will require
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a HR Generalist role.
  • Experience in deploying and administering HR programs, policies, practices and processes.
  • Experience in influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and leaders across functions.
  • Advanced planning/organizational skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance tactical needs and strategic thinking.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Canada Labour Code.
  • Experience dealing with non-union employee relations matters; preference for candidates who demonstrate experience with maintaining positive employee relations.

Candidates must legally be able to work in Canada.
