Aqua Tech - Seasons of Tuxedo Rec Room

Overview

The Dishwasher is responsible for the cleaning, storage, and dispatch of all dishes, equipment, and smallwares (including dining room and lounge, banquets, private spaces, and outside caterings) in accordance with The Rec Room standards and health and safety regulations. This role provides fast and effective cleaning of all kitchen utensils, dishware, glassware, pots and pans, and maintains the kitchen area in cleanliness and tidiness.

The Aqua Tech will ensure guests and employees have clean and sanitized utensils, dishes, glassware, pots, pans and equipment.

• Practice the values and guidelines of The Rec Room.
• Ensure consistently clean and sanitized dishes, equipment, and smallwares.
• Communicate politely and effectively with all departments, particularly The Rec Room staff and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen areas including all operating equipment, refrigerators and storerooms.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms organized and cleaned daily.
• Aid in the transportation of all dishes, equipment, and smallwares, ensuring arrangements meet the standards set by the Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager.
• Store dishes, equipment, and smallwares in appropriate locations to maintain high cleanliness standards, minimize waste, and maximize space.
• Support department objectives and motivate fellow staff to improve efficiency and self-esteem.
• Contribute to raising departmental standards and introducing new concepts.
• Strive to advance knowledge, skills, and abilities and share them with others.
• Respond promptly to internal and external guest requests and complaints, meeting and exceeding Rec Room standards and ensuring food service staff are informed.
• Participate in Rec Room environmental initiatives and department-specific sustainability efforts.
• Uphold a safe working environment with Health and Safety considerations, actively improving safety practices.
• Assist in maintaining and achieving the highest departmental standards as determined by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and guests.
• Advise culinary management on opportunities to decrease kitchen expenses, including breakage control and loss prevention, while maximizing productivity and guest satisfaction.
• Practice professional work habits and integrity.
• Carry out related duties as assigned and adhere to Rec Room guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations.
• Complete Rec Room orientation and follow designated breaks under culinary management guidance.
• Complete work and side duties per departmental procedures; identify situations that compromise standards and communicate to management.
• Maintain grooming, personal hygiene, and uniform standards as per Rec Room policies.
• Attend designated meetings, events, and menu tastings.
• Ensure food deliveries are received and stored according to Executive Chef standards and provincial health regulations when required.
• Use scales and measurements accurately in all recipes, portioning, and food production as required.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.

• Previous experience in a customer service environment preferred.
• Food Safe certification preferred.
• WHMIS certificate an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Outgoing and professional with strong people skills.
• Team player with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to acquire and maintain relationships with associates, customers, and staff.
• Ability to learn Aqua Tech operations as they affect kitchen and related areas.
• Positive communication, interpersonal skills, and a consistent display of professionalism.
• Ability to exert physical effort in transporting equipment and wares.
• Remove garbage within the Rec Room as assigned.
• Sweep and mop as needed to maintain a safe work environment.

• Must be neatly dressed and well groomed in clean and approved apparel per company dress code.
• Must wear slip-resistant shoes, safety gloves, and a water-resistant apron.
• Stand and walk during a 6-8 hour shift; reason to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
• Lifts and carries supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Hazards may include cuts from broken glass, hot water, metal cans, burns, slipping, and tripping.
• Frequently immerses hands in hot and cold water; works in hot and damp and cold environments (walk-in refrigerators and freezers).
