Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Device Reprocessing/Linen Services and Business Processes, the incumbent organizes and coordinates the workflow to eliminate supply interruptions. The incumbent ensures efficient utilization of all resources, provides direction to front line staff, and conducts quality assurance audits and inspections. The role is active across the Medical Device Reprocessing Division, working closely with the medical, surgical, and operating room departments.

- Problem solve (ex. back orders, missing stock, late deliveries, issues with the warehouse etc.).
- Establish and adjust quotas of medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation and drugs required for Ward and Operating Room (OR) trays.
- Maintain inventories of medical and surgical supplies (Linen Room, Linen Services, Respiratory Processing, Medical Device Reprocessing – OR and Medical Device Reprocessing supplies) against pre‑established quotas, adjust the orders to reflect varying demands of operating rooms and wards, including receiving and topping up inventory supplies in the Medical Device Reprocessing Distribution Centre.
- Place stock and non‑stock orders on computer to replenish inventories.
- Prepare information for specialty supplies that are ordered annually and bi‑annually, including quantities required for the year, pricing from three companies and ordering the supplies.
- Support departmental variance analysis by analysing expense code expenditures.
- Three years inventory control and supply acquisition experience in a related healthcare setting, preferably an operating room required.
- Complete Grade 12 education – Manitoba standards required.
- Courses in Basic Accounting – required.
- Training in supervisory skills – an asset.
- Courses in inventory management – preferred.
- Successful completion of a recognised Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program – an asset.
- Experience in Capital Equipment acquisition – preferred.
- Successful completion of a recognised Sterile Processing Technician program – an asset.
- Must complete recognised WHMIS training and participate in relevant seminars and on‑the‑job training.
- Purchasing Capital equipment – preferred.

Qualifications And Skills- Knowledge of OR supplies required.
- Proficient in the use of SAP & TDOC – 2 years’ experience preferred.
- Computer Skill – Windows‑based environment required.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience dealing with Service Contract/Agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction to others.
- Self‑motivated, with a strong aptitude for customer service.
- Good analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly stressful environment and independently.
- Capability to make independent decisions and apply knowledge to make decisions.
- Orientation toward quality production.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities fairly and appropriately.
- Preference will be given to those competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Periods of continuous walking and standing; moderate hand, arm, and shoulder movement.
- Periods of computer work.
- Position requires constant walking, repetitive lifting, bending, stretching and pushing in the transfer of stock between areas, and from floor to shelving (approx. 40–451 lbs. per item); repetitive hand, arm, and shoulder motions required, and long periods of standing.
- Pushing and pulling pallet loads of inventory that may weigh up to 2100 lbs.
- Handling of dangerous goods in accordance with WHMIS regulations.
- May be required to work in cramped conditions where carrying items over obstacles and twisting motions are necessary (e.g., soap room).
