The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking motivated Physician Assistants for 2 Full‑Time positions in the Primary Care Program at Access Winnipeg West.

Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings, such as the Emergency Department and wards, and following patients in the pre/peri/postoperative ward and other clinical settings. Assistants will attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters, using dictation or electronic medical records where available.

Assistants must communicate effectively in English with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION

Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant.
• Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
• Prior experience preferred.
• Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.

Applicants will be subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
