Shared Health leads the planning and coordination of patient‑centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions.
Responsibilities- Performs a variety of clerical tasks and acts as a communication link for the unit.
- Performs a variety of tasks for the care and comfort of patients and routine domestic tasks to maintain cleanliness of the area (approximately 10-90% depending on unit, occupancy and shift).
- Previous related work experience preferred.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program or equivalent (Health Care Aide and Unit Clerk programs) required.
- Medical terminology (75% pass mark) required.
- Preference for applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Probation period training for PHIA, WHMIS, Universal Precautions, regional/site/unit policies, and health-care team roles and responsibilities.
- Basic keyboarding skills; excellent English language skills (oral and written).
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload; work well in a team and seek assistance as necessary.
- General administrative and secretarial skills relevant to duties; ability to operate IT equipment (fax, photocopier, computer, etc.).
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Position may involve lifting, transferring and transporting patients and equipment.
