Introduction
The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Manager of Fire Inspections position. The Office of the Fire Commissioner is a public safety organization that provides province wide leadership in fire prevention, fire safety regulation, fire investigations, emergency response coordination, and the oversight of fire protection programs delivered by local authorities.The Office of the Fire Commissioner is part of the Manitoba Government and embedded within the Department of Municipal and Northern Relations.

Duties:
The Manager of Fire Inspections leads Manitoba’s provincial fire and life safety inspection regime. This position oversees a team of assistant fire commissioners who deliver consistent and effective enforcement of the Manitoba Fire Code, support the adoption of the National Fire Code, and provide technical expertise to local governments, community-based fire inspectors, stakeholders and the public. The Manager ensures operational excellence through guidance, policy interpretation, staff development, and program oversight.
Acting as a key advisor to the Fire Commissioner on the fire code, the position contributes to strategic initiatives that promote public safety, strengthen the provincial fire service, and support community-focused fire prevention objectives.
