Manager, Corporate Development, Analysis & Diligence

Overview

Join a motivated and high-performance team responsible for analysis and due diligence of acquisition targets in the financial services industry. Use a combination of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills combined with problem solving and emotional intelligence to support diligence efforts spanning a broad range of areas and target types.
The Manager, Corporate Development, Analysis & Diligence Will

• Lead the work effort to gain an understanding of the business—such as its revenues, client base, service model, operations, and distribution channels—to both identify potential risks of a transaction and inform integration efforts.
• Financial analyses, such as quality of earnings and net working capital analyses.
• Prepare post-closing financial forecast for the target business.
• Coordinate subject matter experts related to confirmatory diligence work streams such as IT, compliance, tax.
• Ensure timely and efficient progress of the diligence project overall while maintaining top tier vendor experience.
• Various project logistics, as required.

• Mindset of intellectual curiosity, continuous learning, perseverance, and an understanding that growth happens outside the comfort zone.
• Ability to advance multiple work streams under tight timelines while maintaining high quality of work product.
• Ability to process information of various types, sources, formats, or structure.
• Willingness to work in excess of standard working hours to accomplish goals and meet timelines.
• Attention to detail and appreciation of data-informed, commercially-nuanced analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form.
• Understanding of accounting / finance concepts such as free cash flow/EBITDA, one-time v. recurring items, net working capital, and similar.
• Completion or near completion of post-graduate professional education such as CPA, CBV, CFA, MBA, P.Eng., or comparable designations or experience.

• French language proficiency.
• Experience in audit, due diligence engagements, transaction advisory services, corporate development, or capital markets more broadly.
• Experience in retail financial services distribution.
