JOB SUMMARYThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full‑time position within the organization’s Finance team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CFO will provide financial expertise to business planning and ensuring collaboration across the Senior Management team to support overall organizational growth and plans. This position will work in conjunction with the CEO and Board of Directors to set the strategic plan and maintain responsibility for the leadership of all aspects of Finance for the organization including financial planning, reporting and analysis, budgeting, funding, accounts receivable/payables, cash management, and payroll processing and administration.
The CFO will work collaboratively with other members of the management team to help support operational excellence.
Along with ensuring that employees and departments comply with finance and procedures, the CFO will seize every opportunity to improve funding and appropriately work to manage costs and facilitate efficiency in operational processes associated with all aspects of the operations. The CFO must be able to show leadership but also work as a team by sharing their knowledge and expertise. The CFO will also promote the organization’s philosophy and foster a strong organizational culture.
ESSENTIALREQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial and business administration, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in nonprofit financial management, including grant administration and fund accounting.
- Proven track record of working with boards, auditors, and external financial stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, fund accounting, and regulatory compliance.
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
- High proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP).
- Ability to manage multiple funding sources and ensure compliance with grant and donor requirements.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present actionable insights.
