Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Parking Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the mission, values and management philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Parking Attendant is responsible for assisting with the operations of the St. Boniface Hospital parking system.

Responsibilities
  • Patrol parking lots daily and ensure cleanliness and safety of customers.
  • Respond to calls for assistance by casual or contract parkers.
  • Visually inspect automated parking equipment and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Notify the Manager or Parking Office of any safety concerns, maintenance required or equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct lot counts and provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Cash out parking systems and print credit card summary reports.
  • Direct traffic at peak times and redirect casual parkers to available spots when lots are full.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience
  • Experience working with the general public in a service‑oriented capacity.
Education
  • Grade XII or recognized equivalent.

  • Ability to work in a Windows operating environment.
  • Use of hand tools.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand French would be an asset.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Initiative and self‑direction.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Mature, professional manner.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
