Transportation Planning Engineer/Project Manager – WSP Canada
WSP is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer who will assume Project Manager responsibilities and contribute to a diverse portfolio of transportation planning and engineering projects across Canada. OpportunityAs a member of the Transportation Planning group you will work on a full spectrum of transportation challenges, including active transportation infrastructure planning, functional and detailed design, road safety, traffic analysis, regional and area studies, community engagement, transit planning, parking studies and transportation demand management (TDM). You will collaborate with transportation/traffic engineers, planners, designers, landscape architects and other multidisciplinary professionals.
What You’ll Do- Collaborate with colleagues on data collection, analysis and technical support for field and office tasks.
- Apply best practices and develop innovative solutions for active transportation master planning, design, engineering analyses and studies.
- Develop progressive experience in project management, coordination and leadership.
- Prepare technical memos, reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Attend client and public meetings and represent the firm.
- Passion for transportation and multimodal solution design.
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering.
- P. Eng license.
- 5–8+ years of experience in transportation engineering/planning, including impact assessments, active transportation infrastructure design, project management and senior engineering roles.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with traffic operations, site analysis and transportation software (Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Sidra, VISSIM, VISTRO, Aimsun).
