We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Co‑op Student starting May 2026 in our Project Delivery Group. Reporting to the Controls, Automation and Electrical (CA&E) discipline lead Engineer, you will support projects globally working from our Winnipeg, Manitoba office.

- Work independently and as part of a team to complete electrical and controls engineering design deliverables for a variety of projects.
- Assist with electrical deliverables, including but not limited to:
- Drafting in CAD tools (Micro Station, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Calculations (cable sizing, lighting, etc.)
- Engineering lists (load list, equipment list, cable schedules, material take‑offs)
- Procurement packages (equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, vendor data review)
- Design deliverables (cable block diagrams, single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagrams)
- Become knowledgeable with electrical design and their practical applications, regional codes and standards (CSA, NEC, IEC, ISA, etc.), various engineering design tools and applications, and Hatch’s quality procedures.
- Work collaboratively in a multi‑discipline environment to deliver the best solution for our clients.
- Assist our engineers and designers with their responsibilities, which may include checking engineering deliverables, attending design reviews, quality reviews, and participating in site inspections and walk‑downs.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
- Excel academically while being actively involved in extra‑curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community.
- Interest in any of the following will be considered an asset: control systems, instrumentation, communications, power systems engineering, power electronics, distribution systems, protection and coordination, power system analysis.
- Previous co‑op or work experience in control systems or electrical and power engineering design and execution is an asset.
- Technical experience with electrical design calculations, power system modeling tools and software, data‑centric design tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is an asset.
- Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges.
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
