Salary: $2,110.23 - $2,554.74 bi-weekly, as per the Technician – Grade 2 Classification within the C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement.

Job Profile

Under the general supervision of the Technologist Grade 3, the Technician 2 – Drafting and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), carries out complex drafting, mapping, graphic presentation assignments, and analysis and maintenance of spatial data using computer aided mapping and GIS software. Performs maintenance and updating of databases related to land records as well as interprets and plots legal descriptions and other related duties consistent with the classification.

This position also provides internal staff and the public with cartographic products and other land-related information.

As the Drafting and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician, your duties will include:
  • Perform a variety of highly skilled drafting using state of the art computer drafting and mapping software(s) such as CAD, GIS, Geo Media Professional, and Micro Survey, etc. to meet the cartographic needs of the Real Estate Division, Geomatics Branch, Permits and Waterways Branches, professional consultants as well as the general public.
  • Provide the Department, City staff and the general public with cartographic products and other land-related information available through the use of Geo Media Professional and the AMANDA system.
  • Perform maintenance and updating of databases related to land records such as the Property Address System, City Land Inventory, Base Map, Zoning, and AMANDA System…
