SJR is an independent co-educational Kindergarten to Grade 12 university-preparatory day school that prepares students for university and the challenges of the world beyond. We invite applications for the following position:

Full time (1.0 EFT) permanent position to commence September 2026

SJR Learning Support Teachers work closely with students, teachers, staff and administration to support and ensure the educational and personal growth of individual students. The successful candidate will have:

• a Manitoba Teaching Certificate or be eligible to obtain one;
• experience teaching students in a school setting with preference given to candidates with early years teaching experience;
• post-baccalaureate certification or specialized training in programming for literacy, numeracy, instruction and assessment for exceptional students;
• experience in planning and programming for students with individualized learning needs including the implementation of AEP/IEP documents;
• experience in guiding/collaborating with classroom teachers and educational assistants, and communicating with parents;
• knowledge of teaching strategies that celebrate the unique strengths, learning needs, and cultural identities of each child;
• knowledge or experience in specific areas, such as, but not limited to: social/emotional development, assistive technologies, and differentiated instruction

The candidate must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate or be eligible to obtain one.
