FRENCH IMMERSION VICE-PRINCIPAL

• Previous school administrative and/or educational leadership experience
• Fluency in French, both oral and written communication
• Demonstrated understanding of current trends and issues in education, with a good working knowledge of curricula and programs
• Demonstrated ability in and commitment to instructional leadership
• Effective problem solver who can anticipate the needs of the complex and diverse school environment
• Excellent decision maker who nurtures a culture of trust, collaboration and innovation across departments and staff
• Ability to critically analyze situations, solicit and utilize input, and work with data to continually improve the effectiveness of the school
• Knowledge and experience in supporting student leadership and voice
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts which may arise in a diverse and complex school environment
• Experience working with community agencies and in partnerships with outside organizations
• Strong understanding of French Immersion programs, language development and pedagogy
• Effective communicator who encourages and supports community involvement and creates an atmosphere of openness with students, staff, and the surrounding community
• Experience and understanding of Indigenous peoples, cultures, and perspectives; commitment to support staff to integrate Indigenous perspectives in classrooms and across curricular areas
• Demonstrated understanding of the cultural diversity of today’s society and ability to adjust to the changing demands of the school community
• Commitment to engagement and equity
• Commitment to support a wide range of curricular, co‑curricular and extra‑curricular initiatives
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills
