Instructor, Aircraft Maintenance

POSITION TYPE: Full‑Time Position Available

SALARY: $65,109 - $102,091 per annum

Note: The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $3,000 or $6,000 per annum, respectively, pro‑rated on an hourly basis.

ELIGIBILITY LIST: This competition may be used to establish a 6‑month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies.

DUTIES

Reporting to the Chair, Aircraft Maintenance, Red River College Polytechnic, the Instructor will deliver classroom instruction, supervise and guide students, evaluate performances, advise learners, maintain student records, and perform other professional duties related to instruction. Subject areas include avionics, aircraft electrical systems, reciprocating engines, turbine engines, aircraft systems, etc. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and college committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M1, M2, E or S rating).
  • Several years of experience working in a technical and supervisory role related to aircraft maintenance engineering in a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings.
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post‑secondary level.
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education.
  • Experience developing and instructing distance‑delivered courses, including online.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction.
  • Experience on Avionics Systems or holds an AME E license.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year, including the summer months.
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE).
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses.
