Locum Obstetrician/Gynecologist
Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences,

Term July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 (potential for extension by mutual agreement of the Department and the successful candidate.)
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, University of Manitoba, in collaboration with affiliated Winnipeg obstetrical and gynecologic practices, is seeking a qualified Generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join the clinical service as a locum physician.
Clinical work may take place at:
- Tertiary care obstetrical sites, including Health Sciences Centre (HSC) and St. Boniface Hospital (SBH)
- Affiliated private obstetrics and gynecology clinics within Winnipeg
This locum position is primarily intended to support service continuity and call coverage during periods of physician leave and vacation. A major component of the role will include:
- Acute care obstetrics and gynecology call coverage, including emergency and inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic services
- Outpatient clinic work to support established practices during physician absences
- Participation in obstetrical and gynecologic care across multiple clinical environments
- Gynecologic surgical activity may include emergency procedures and scramble slate opportunities, consistent with departmental and site‑specific practices.
As the affiliated hospitals are teaching sites, the successful applicant will hold a faculty appointment at the University of Manitoba at the rank of Lecturer, with expectations for participation in clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners as appropriate to clinical duties.
Remuneration:
- Fee-for-Service (FFS) remuneration, in accordance with provincial billing schedules
- Overhead arrangements will be made with the department and details are available upon request.
